About CECWA

The China Engineering Construction Welding Association (hereinafter referred to as “CECWA”) is a national social organization registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, a membership based association established in 1984. The CECWA members are composed of engineering construction enterprises, social organizations, scientific research and design institutions, colleges and universities, as well as technical and vocational experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and other professionals with a common interest in welding.

In 2023, CECWA was rated as a 4A-level social organization, and in 2025, it was honored with the title of “National Advanced Social Organization,” both by Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

Scope of Businesses：

I. In accordance with national policies and regulations, and aligned with industry characteristics, CECWA is committed to establishing an industry self-regulatory mechanism. This aims to standardize industry conduct and guide the healthy development of the industries.

II. As authorized, the Association conducts industry statistical surveys and analyzes market operations. CECWA also collates, analyzes, and publishes domestic and international information on welding technologies and economics. By tracking global market dynamics and industry trends, CECWA provides timely market forecasts and information services to the members and the industries, offers strategic recommendations to the government for formulating industry policies and development plans.

III. The Association actively participates in the research of economic, technical, and legal policies related to welding and relevant technologies. CECWA continuously monitors the implementation of relevant policies and regulations, and provide timely feedback to government departments, effectively conveying the opinions and demands of the industry and enterprises.

IV. Entrusted by government authorities, the Association participates in the formulation and refinement of technical skills level assessment and evaluation methods. Furthermore, CECWA organizes the appraisal of Comprehensive Welding Management achievements and the authentication of technological innovation outcomes.

V. The Association is dedicated to building an Association Standards System for engineering construction welding, and organizing the drafting of relevant standards within this framework. CECWA actively participates in the research and development of national standards, industry standards, and technical specifications in the field of welding and relevant technologies, striving to promote the internationalization of Chinese welding standards.

VI. The Association is committed to strengthening workforce development by establishing and refining the vocational education and training system for welding professionals, thereby comprehensively enhancing the competence of welding personnel in the engineering construction sector. Furthermore, subject to the review and approval of government authorities, CECWA conducts competency assessments for welding professionals.

VII. In accordance with relevant regulations, the Association organizes vocational skills competitions for welding professionals in the engineering construction sector. These events create opportunities for top-tier technical talents to emerge and further drive workforce development. Furthermore, CECWA actively supports and organizes welding professionals to participate in international events, including the WorldSkills Competition.

VIII. The Association organizes welding technology development, technical exchanges, and consulting services. CECWA actively promotes the latest advancements in welding technologies and facilitate the sharing of construction and management experiences, thereby building a comprehensive information exchange platform for the industry and enterprises.

IX. The Association actively promotes the implementation of measures for the achievement of the Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutralizing (Dual Carbon) goals. We guide CECWA members in adopting clean and highly efficient welding technologies to achieve green production, and timely summarize best practices and promote them across the industries.

X. The Association is committed to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with international welding organizations, as well as relevant institutions in the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions.

The Association currently has 15 branch organizations and 2 representative offices, with a total of 778 members, comprising 650 organizational members and 128 individual members. CECWA has authorized and certified over 30 welding training centers.
